Information on World Church Work
World Church Work

There are many needs across the world which the Methodist Church and our Church is well placed to help. We work to develop our Church's involvement with the developing world and other Churches around the world.

  • The World Mission Fund supports projects and individual mission partners, scholarship and leadership training.
  • The Methodist Relief and Development Fund supports the poorest of the poor with long-term development, humanitarian aid and development education.
Our East Anglian district has partner churches in Latvia where volunteers went to improve and paint buildings.

Two well established areas where we help at a local level are:

  • The organisation of Traidcraft fairs and stalls, not only in our Church but also in other Woodbridge Churches.
  • The collection and refurbishment of tools through Tools With A Mission, TWAM.
Recently our World Church Action Group (WCAG) helped in:

  • Ghana, where we are funding toilet and food preperation areas at a Primary School in Ekon.
  • The Siyabona Project near Durban in South Africa.
We raise money in a variety of ways: Ghanaian evenings, South African Suppers, 'Gold for Ghana' days, Spare a Copper and World Mission Weekends with knowledgeable speakers.
